South Norfolk Council have just installed some new trial cooking oil recycling banks in the district. These are being jointly launched with and funded by Anglian Water, as part of their campaign to stop cooking oil from going into the sewerage system.
The banks will be serviced by a local company, Living Fuels. They will refine the oil into a bioliquid which will be used to generate carbon neutral electricity.
The banks are at the following sites:
- Harford Bridge, Tesco
- Co-op car park, Long Stratton
- Ketts Park, Wymondham
- Weavers Court, Diss
- Bullock Fair car park, Harleston
They will be launched with an extensive joint promotional campaign with Anglian Water and Living Fuels. A copy of some of the promotional material, with the outline design of the banks, is attached – 1-aw-oil-bank-postcard-south-norfolk
